Administrative Experience
Vice Provost for Enrollment Management,
University of Missouri-Columbia.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management is responsible
for the overall functioning of the Division including goals, policies,
budget, personnel, and facilities. The Office is also responsible for coordinating the institutional enrollment
planning effort and for ensuring appropriate data is available for institutional decision-making.
Major functional areas include: Admissions,
Financial Aid, Registration, Community Relations,
and Student Information Systems
Accomplishments include:
- Developing an enrollment management planning process that
addresses issues related to retention, undergraduate recruitment,
distance learning enrollments, professional school enrollments,
and graduate school enrollments.
- Identifying appropriate implementation strategies for PeopleSoft
- Identifying means, through working with the Legislative
Black Caucus and the St. Louis City Schools, to increase minority
student enrollments at Mizzou.
- Generating data on enrollment issues at Mizzou
Interim Dean of Student Development
and Academic Services, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Responsibilities included leading the successful merger of
two divisions, building a collaborative team of unit directors
and coordinators, and providing administrative oversight for
the newly merged division.
Major functional areas included: Admissions,
Financial Aids, Records and Registration, Residence Life,
Student Life (Judicial Affairs), Disability Resource Services,
Student Support Services, Academic Discovery Lab, Multicultural
Student Services, Counseling and Testing, Career Services,
Student Activities and Centers (includes student union and
student government), Student Health Center, Recreational Center,
Child Care Center, Textbook Services, Campus Food Service,
Bookstore, Reach and Share (addresses alcohol issues on campus),
and Upward Bound.
Accomplishments include:
- Addressing enrollment management issues, including establishing
a multicultural retention and recruitment team
- Collaborating closely with faculty and academic deans to
enhance the learning environment for students
- Developing marketing strategies to inform the University
community of the role of the Division
- Working with students and student government to ensure their
voices are heard through roundtable discussions and research
- Ensuring the Division systematically addresses diversity
issues
- Working to ensure division units obtain necessary resource
Director of Career Services, University
of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Administered full range of career programs and services, as
well as an international cooperative education and internship
program. Responsibilities included program planning, policy
development, staff supervision and development, university
and community relations, budget management, counseling clients,
research, and data collection and dissemination management.
Accomplishments include:
- Assisting in conceptualization and establishment of the
Academic Discovery Lab, an advising program for undecided
students that annually serves approximately 60% of freshman
and sophomore students
- Assisting deans and academic department chairs in curriculum
planning and implementation of new academic offerings
- Writing numerous grants to enhance office services
- Initiating an international internship program, which became
one of largest in the Midwest
- Supporting diversity through programs, grants, and articles
Research and Planning Specialist,
Western Wisconsin Technical College (La Crosse, Wisconsin).
Developed institutional planning process which was adopted
by the Governing Board. This involved chairing the institutional
planning committee comprised of faculty and administrators,
assisting in institutional reorganization, and preparing grant
proposals. Also conducted institutional research projects.
Director of Career Planning and
Placement,
Husson College (Bangor, Maine).
Was responsible for complete and successful reorganization
of this unit. Also instrumental in making Husson College one
of the first colleges in New England to be accessible to students
with disabilities.
Associate Director of Admissions
Husson College (Bangor, Maine).
Work involved establishing new admissions policy, developing
marketing plan for the institution, supervising 10 part-time
admissions representatives in New England, New York, and New
Jersey, and managing office staff. Played significant role
in reversing five-year freshman enrollment drop.

chaired nine thesis committees and served as a committee member
for nine additional thesis committees.
