Selected Career Highlights:

Overseeing implementation of new system (PeopleSoft) on all four campuses, which is currently on time and on budget. UM-Rolla completed Fall 2006, UM-Columbia and UM-Kansas City to be completed Fall 2007, and UM – St. Louis to be completed Fall 2008.

Initiated, developed, and managed the implementation of the new course numbering system for the campus at the University of Missouri-Columbia, 2002-2004

Instigated and implemented a major revision to the Undergraduate Catalog , University of Missouri-Columbia, 2002-2004

Functional Lead MU Campus, PeopleSoft Student Administration System, Student Records, University of Missouri, 2000-present

Employment Experiences:

Position level: Director, Student Information System Implementation , University of Missouri System , March 2005-present

•  Responsible for the oversight and direction of the implementation of the new Student Information System (PeopleSoft) for the four University of Missouri campuses (Columbia, Kansas City, Rolla and St. Louis.)

  • Provide the major oversight and guidance of the project, coordinating with the four campuses through their Executive Sponsors, CIOs and Campus Project Managers
  • Set agendas and lead meetings of Exec. Sponsors and Leadership Team
  • Provide regular project reports to the Leadership Team
  • Research University-wide policies and work to develop modifications, as necessary for the implementation
  • Oversee the budget and keep the Leadership Team, President and other appropriate parties informed
  • Provide assistance for consultant selection, RFPs, contract completion, and related matters for the Campus Project Managers and Executive Sponsors
  • Ensure that issues are being raised to the appropriate level for resolution
  • Oversee communication plan implementation as managed by the Communication staff member or consultant and work with University Communications for press releases and crisis management
  • Works closely with Report Manger to ensure that baseline reporting needs are met for go-live
  • •  Communicate with University of Missouri Interfaculty Council (IFC) to keep them abreast of the project

    •  Communicate regularly with other key administrators to keep them abreast of the projects status

    •  Communicate regularly with the four-campus, work groups (Admissions. Records, Financial Aid and Cashiers) to close any potential communication gaps related to project implementation plans, timelines, policies changes, progress reports, etc.

    •  Supervises the University of Missouri System Consultant for Administrative Projects

    •  Work closely with the Manager for Information Systems, the Database Manager, and the UM Consultant for Adm. Projects as part of the Management Team to direct the project implementation

    Position level: University Registrar , University of Missouri , October 2000-present

    •  Responsible for the Office of the University Registrar and all related services, which includes enrollment statistics, management of the databases for the catalog, course offerings, classroom scheduling, registration/enrollment, degree audit system (DARS), collection and distribution of grades, management of historic records for production of transcripts and diplomas as well as maintenance of all related records

    •  Assist in the review of current policies and the development of new ones related to a wide variety of academic and procedural issues related to student service

    •  Manage requests for exceptions to policies ranging from Faculty Handbook and academic policies to registration and fee payment

    •  Serve on numerous other campus-wide and inter-campus committees and task forces to assist with identifying and developing policies to resolve issues of concern to the campus community, especially as they relate to student services. Examples include: Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Enrollment Management, Undergraduate Dean's Committee, Advisory Committee on Space Allocation, Committee on Undergraduate EdSeptember 19, 2012 education requirements), Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the Summer Welcome (orientation) Committee

    •  Responsible for classroom maintenance for generally-scheduled classrooms and developing related policies

    •  Oversee central arrangements for all commencement ceremonies, such as establishing the central schedule, security, flowers, etc.

    •  Responsible for the campus-wide, Honor's Convocations in May and December, including the awarding of the Honorary Degrees at the May ceremony

    •  Manage the production of the Unde r graduate Catalog and the Schedule of Courses

    •  Coordinate fee payment policies and procedures with the Cashier's Office, including determining refunds for appealed issues

    •  Supervise a staff of approximately 25 who provide essential functions related to registration, enrollment certification, reporting, NCAA academic certification, records maintenance and transcript production

    •  Oversee budgets totaling approximately $1,000,000

     

    Position level: Associate Registrar , The University of Kansas, January 1991-September 2000*

    Reason for departure: Accepted the University Registrar position at the University of Missouri-Columbia

    •  Assisted with the development of policies to address areas in need of improvement for student services related to course offerings, registration, and related policies

    •  Served on two, PeopleSoft, Student Administration Fit Gap/Implementation committees (Student Records and Student Financials)

    •  Handled special projects for the Associate Provost for Academic Services

    •  Coordinated, along with Design and Construction Management, the Provost's Office and academic units the implementation of Crumbling Classrooms ($14 million) project for general-purpose classroom usage

    •  Directed and coordinated all enrollment and change-of-enrollment activities for approximately 27,000 students, including off-campus students

    •  Researched and responded to inquiries concerning enrollment, tuition and fee assessment, and related processes from parents, students, staff and faculty

    •  Managed course-catalog, course-offering and student-record computer databases

    •  Responsible for grade collection and distribution (1991-1993)

    •  Managed reports related to the various computer databases

    •  Responsible for maintaining security of databases by users under my supervision

    •  Wrote, edited, directed and coordinated, three-times-per-year, the production of the Timetable of Classes

    •  Coordinated activities with other areas of the Office of the University Registrar and across campus

    •  Managed Office of the University Registrar activities in University Registrar's absence

     

    *My title was changed from Assistant to Associate Registrar in 1997. The only changes to my duties were the addition of special projects for the Associate Provost for Academic Services and later the PeopleSoft project.
