The Office of Student Information
Systems (SIS) maintains and develops academic and
administrative databases, web applications and other related
systems. We support students/faculty/staff, catalog, class
room scheduling, recruitment, admissions, the registrar, student
records, transcripts, degree audit and others that directly
support the mission of MU Enrollment Management. Additionally,
we support other academic and administrative offices and departments.
- These services include:
• Maintenance and expansion of existing application
systems
• Assisting and training client departments in satisfying
various reporting requirements
• Development of new application systems on enterprise
server, micro, or other distributed computer platforms and
database planning, coordination and consultation.
• Tracking of students, grades, schedules, and instructors.
• Allows pending courses to be entered while current
courses are still running.
• Automatic promotions of students from one unit to
the next.
• Exports enrollment, grade and instructor information
for government purposes.
• Many reports for internal information purposes (multiple).
• Automated Scheduler now available!
• Many other complex services.
Related data entry, control, access,
security, training, and client support is provided by SIS along
with the IAT Services helpdesk and UM System Support helpdesk.
Individuals whose services are shared with other units to form
a cohesive functional enterprise provide the latter functions
to SIS. University Computing and Networking Services (IAT Services)
operate Enterprise servers, computing, and communications equipment;
upon which SIS relies for both operations and systems programming support.
